With my study and course to become a breathwork instructor, I’ve actually had to learn how to breathe ! I think that I always breathed through my mouth, unaware of the problems that this causes.
In trying to learn good breathing patterns and nasal breathing, my nose sometimes feels a bit blocked.
This simple technique involves breath holds and movement to help relieve congestion in nose and sinuses.
how to do this exercise ?
This can be done sitting or standing.
Take a few gentle breaths in and out (through the nose, of course).
After an exhale to a natural end point, pinch your nose to hold your breath, and nod “yes” 5 times. Take a gentle breath (or a few if you’re finding this difficult).
After exhaling to that natural end point, pinch your nose again and turn your head side to side like a “no” 5 times. Take another gentle breath.
After another exhale, pinch your nose and tilt your head side to side 5 times…
The repeat the “yes” nods and the “no” turns on a breath hold again.
If your not as unblocked as you’d like, take a break and repeat again a little later !
